Beaches

Have got a car for a week in June and would really like to find a reasonably empty beach to catch some rays. Ideas would be lovely?

Definitely Praia da Marinha is the best beach in the Algarve.
Last year it was considered one in 100 of the most beautiful in the world.
If you go there in June it's even better to appreciate it as there won't be many people around.

and then see for yourself in June. Don't worry about the one hundred and something steps. It's worth each of it !!!

Caneiros and Albanhera

Caneiros gets my vote - Marinha is lovely but a bit of a climb so no good for the grannies and the restaurant at Caneiros, tho' not the cheapest around, does excellent fish. There is also a good snack kiosk now at Caneiros.

Marinha, Carvalho, Albandeira, without any specific order... all beautiful! I have made walk on the cliff from Marinha to Albandeira and i saw 3 even more amazing beaches... (un)fortunately only one (the "worst") has waklign acess, neither have car access around... there were only some boats moored but the beach is awesome! i think its called Barranquinho... some fantastic water colors, fantastic pics!

just returned today from a fantastic holiday

Favourite beach this year was Gale - the small beach to the left - about 25 permenant sun shades and lovely sand dunes/rocky areas either side - not deserted but still quite secluded - loved the restaurant for lunch.

Also recommend Caneiros - our 2nd favourite
