Lesley Jean. Sorry to her what you say. You do seem to be between a rock and a hard place on this. If the tests do become an issue out here again I can only suggest that if you have to see doctor privately you ask whether the actual tests can be done under the E111 procedure or whatever the EU reciprocal NHS system is called.
I have been having blood tests at Barlavento hospital in Portimao (the new public hospital) for some months and I have found the staff in the hosital do dia where this was done to be very well motivated and supportive. Most of the nursing staff were young and spoke good English when I could not find the right word in Portuguese.
