Mind boggling but almost useless fact.

There are reputedly 10,000 Portuguese people living and working in Norfolk, UK

400 alone work for Bernard Mathews - booootiful.

Now surely this must be the starter for a few comments?!

The last time Norfolk had that many 'outsiders' there was when the GI's visited and we all know what happened then - my Mum's cousin has a distant American father, unknown - maybe its Cowboy???

So lots of gorgeous Portuguese guys in a bootiful part of UK. Maybe I should go and visit my family instead of coming to Carvoeiro in summer

I was the guest Maddi, spoilt for choice this summer so it seems? I would love to be back in Norfolk but its a very long drive, so need my energy for Carvoeiro in September

Anyway do you really think those guys will be smelling very sweet after spending all day plucking turkeys - how does that rhyme go Mads??? Hope they dont have to wear safety helmets

I'd be very happy to hose them down and soap them up, so they are all smelling gorgeous

Pheasant plucker rhyme you mean , after a few drinks or a few quick recitals, I would rather enjoy a Pheasant Plucker

In this day and age Pammie, one certainly has to promote the wearing of a safety helmet during pheasant plucking

But I have yet to meet someone with the right size helmet. The guys always complain they are a bad fit so dont like wearing them - a poor excuse don't you think??

I wonder how they decide what size the average helmet is to know how to do the sizing??? Maybe Biffa & gang could help out on that one?

I thought they didn't like them because it stopped them getting the real effect of the "wind through their hair" - ooh silly me

I am prepared to accept the mission and under take the extensive research that is required. I await further instructions (not that I need them of course

I will reluntantly volunteer to offer assitance, we will need nerves of steel, steady hands and probably a comb for all that 'wind through the hair'

I am prepared to undertake such a risk in the name of women everywhere, just what is an average helmet? And are we all getting an appropriate size?

Great to have you on board, Susan - I shall of course, be responsible for checking out the newer models, thinking 1960 onwards through to 1986, - it is a tough job but someones got to do it.
