Death of Grenville
From Michelle Theaker (AKA Gibbons)
Just heard the sad news about the death of one of Carvoeiro's most well known ex-pats!! I worked in Carvoiero in 1995 in the California restuarant with Tony, Alan and Debbie. Grenville used to clean the windows for Tony and Alan and used to give me alot of amusement whilst we worked. I Got to know Grenville quite well (along with my friends Brooky and Katty) in the regular haunt in those days - LSD. I have missed Grenville to speak to on many of my regular holidays to Carvoiero but have heard his voice echoing around the village many times.
I would like to send my deapest sympathy to all of Grenville's family and friends who are greaving for him at this time. An old friend who will be missed across the Algarve and back here in the UK!!!

It was a shock to everyone here in Carvoeiro and further afield when Grenville passed away. I was told a week later which I still cannot believe. He used to come into the Windmill Bar which was next door to the California Restaurant quite regular and at one stage babysat for me at the weekend. He was such a great guy always jolly and happy, never in all the years had I known him which was from when I moved here to Carvoeiro in 1990, never saw him angry, never heard him argue or raise his voice. he had a heart of gold. I saw his mum in Intermache last week and said how sorry I was to hear about this. She was telling me that Grenvilles little boy walks just like him and looks like him. I told her that if he grows up to be like his dad he will make a lot of friends just like Grenville did. I dont know his wife but she was the only person that changed him and settled him down. The article in the algarve news said the type of person he was and he will be missed. Everyone knew Grenville. My thoughts are with his family and to his wife and little boy who I have not met.

Hiya Vic (Geezer)..
Im wondering if this is the person that my girl friend in Carvoeiro told me about...
she didn't say tell me his name..but simply said a friend of hers had died in his sleep..that he was only her age (36)..and that he'd been a biker..
would this be the chap?
I know she was very shocked by it..and specially being so young..have I got the right person?
God rest his soul+
