Running around Carvoeiro
Hello,
I will be spending 2 weeks in Carvoeiro in august, as a keen runner I wonder if there is any good trails for running in the area?
Cheers,
Ben

hi Ben
as a casual runner, rather than keen, i found many of the side roads up and around the Almansor hotel area quite quiet and suitable for running..and there is a cliff walk/trail from algar seco, out of the town , past the Almansor and along to Centaines beach.....a bit loose underfoot in parts , and hilly, but worth it for the wonderful views

Running Route
You will need to run in the mornings to finish your run well before 10.00 (hot by then)- the roads are Ok as most have a gravel strip at the sides where there is no footpath. They are reasonably quiet early morning as most tourists are still in bed.
A circular route from the square in CVO up restaurant hill ( or up the hill on the left of the beach past the police station if you want a steep climb) and continue running straight along about 3K to just before the entrance to Rocha Brava development, turn left up the road to the junction at the top of the hill where you turn left again and follow this road along until you reach the main road back down to CVO. Left here and follow it back to the square. Total is 10K with a few nice hills to make you work. I will be doing it in a couple of weeks time.
