Post by Arthur »

Hi

The fish market in CVO is crap, unless you want a diet of sardines and fish that you've never seen before and look disgusting. The market is Lagoa is marginally better in that there are many more of the same, while the market in Portamao has a much better selection and you should find something there that will stay down

If you want fish you will recognise, go to the Intermarche.

and yes you will love CVO, once bitten, you'll be hooked

Hooked, eh - good link!

Perfectly ok to have that opinion, but not as a "guest", if you are going to say something negative, you really do need to own it.

Intermarche is good both for fishfingers and designer Salmon raised in bathtubs. If you want real fish try the ones on the markets, they come out of the sea. Daily. Some look different but are often the best, ask!

Fish Market

Post by allocj »

I think 'crap' is a tad harsh. We bought some fabulous skate, calamari, large prawns, and Dorada (I think) from there last year. Unless its gone down hill since then, I would take look. I'm not sure what mornings are best to go down there but I don't think it's open everyday.

From the main square head up the hill towards all the restuarants. Then take a left after about 200 yrds. The market is then about 50 yrds up this road on the right. Big white place. Just follow your nose!
