But now I feel concern at the amount of fish I've eaten in CVO! Hope there's no deep sea fishing two miles out!?

No, there is no deep sea 2 miles out.

The fish you buy at a restaurant or marketplace is usually caught somewhere near the international border or on the high sea. Plus you don't eat what the fish eat.

Other than that, you would be amazed at the ocean's ability to churn and eliminate fecal matter. Most of the time the current will have whisked it away in no time.

Nowhere, the Atlantic is constantly pushing massive amounts of water past the Algarve coast - it dissolves, dilutes and disappears.

I'm sure plenty of nasty stuff is pumped into the sea around the UK including sewerage. Doesn't seem to stop us going to the beach here !!
