Own Car/Airport Transfer

Post by Peter C »

We come to our house in Carvoeiro about 8 or 9 times a year. Car hire has been the best option to date but with a view to moving from the UK for most of the year we ae thinking of buying a car. The main problem is getting to and from the airport. With a Taxi costing €60 each way we can almost hire a car for a week! Does anyone know of any long term parking at the airport? If there are enough people in this situation perhaps some kind of group could be formed where we can help each other out.

Cheers

We come to Cvo about 3 or 4 times a year and hire a car each time. We would be happy to give a lift to anyone if we have space. Next time we're in this situation I'll try to remember to post a note to see if anyone is on the same flight. We usually fly with Monarch, seems better value this year.

Thanks for your help - the idea for a group was to have a list of people that regularly visit the Carvoeiro area and when someone is coming they simply do a 'round Robin' e-mail to see if anyone is available to pick them up from the airport. This may work but parking at the airport long term does not seem so expensive particularly compared with the UK! I will investigate further.
roy4eyes - I will e-mail but don't have your address.

Thanks again.

One of the benefits of registering is that then you would have other members details at the bottom of their posts - as Ktee and Gambrinus will tell you in encouraging you to register.

I would therefore advise you to register now rather than give you my details in an open post.

Look forward to hearing from you.
