Hi there,
Your first time in Carvoeiro but most probably not yr last becoz every1 falls in love with the place and the people.

Places to go - so many but if you just want to relax, lie on a beach, eat good food and watch the world go by there are loads of fantastic bars and restaurants. Lots of people usually end up at the Jailhouse where there is live music and if you are a football fan then there is Smilers where they screen the live matches.

If u have children the usual places are Slide and Splash nearby and Zoomarine. Travelling further Lagos further to the west is a lovely town with history, marina, beach and lots of shops, bars etc - just make sure u dont get lost walking around the little streets as we nearly did as they have a tendency to look the same.

There are so many places I am sure it is worth just checking the website and you are bound to be inundated with replies. Have a great hol. wish we were going soon too.

Beaso, its very hard to compere the size of carvoeiro to anywhere in England, the main square and main road where all the restaurants and bars are is like any high street at home. The villas and apartments are spread out over a wide area and there are no high rise blocks. The time will be the same as the UK when you get there. I will be over the same time as you (im going on the 26th), Im sure you will have a great time i've been going for the last 18 years and have always had a fab time !!
P.S The weather is very hot so bring plenty of suncream and dont forget your hat 8)
P.P.S Just out of interest where will you be staying?

Loretta I don't know if you know my area at all but in my head as far as Torbay, South Devon is concerned - it consists of three holiday towns - Brixham, Paignton and Torquay

- Carvoeiro is Brixham, Vilamoura is Torquay and Quarteira is Paignton

- all make sense to me and anyone else you knows my part of the world, I was sort of hoping someone could do that for Beaso based on his part of the world.

Mads :)

Hi Maddi.
I know what you mean i've been to Torquay and Brixham and i can see where your coming from, I'm afraid ive never been to Beaso's neck of the woods so i'm about as useful as a chocolate teapot! I hope someone out there will be able to advise him.

Beaso - Portugal and UK share the same time as they are on the same line of longitude. I have been on planes where the pilot has told passengers to change their watches - if that happens - ignore it!! No matter what you're told it's the same time!! Another reason for liking Portugal!

Wish I was there in 2 weeks - give my love to Carvoeiro!

Places to go - icecream and crepe shop!!!!!!

I can thouroughly (and independently) recommend PlayOasis - my three year old insists on going there almost every other day when we are in Carvoeiro, which is great because it gets us out of the midday sun and he has a fantastic time on the padded climbing frames and slides.

I can have a couple of chilled beers and relax on the patio whilst earning an enourmous amount of brownie points with the wife since she can stay by the pool and sunbathe in peace for a few hours. (which I then lose again by playing golf the following day  )

Graham

I think it is great that you are able to thoroughly recommend the facilities at PlayOasis and always find that personal recommendation is the greatest advertising.

On that note, PayOasis, I am unable to locate your paid advertising space on this forum, please point me in the right direction.
