Garden Stores (Sheds)

Post by iane »

I am looking to buy a store to go in the garden to keep 3 bikes, an electric scooter, toolboxes and other such stuff.

Been to Maxmat today and they have one on offer that is really too big - wants to be about 2m wide, maximum 2m high and about 1,5m "deep" - does anyone have any ideas where I might get one at a reasonable price - some of the wooden built stuff Ive seen here is pretty pricey.

That part of the "plan" (assuming there actually is a plan !) has been put on hold for the time being as the only things I found at a "sensible" price were too big (high) - most things seem to be more like garden houses than sheds as we northerners know them.

For the time being the old cashflow has been diverted into an aircon installation instead while I look for a drawing board to go back to.

Thanks anyway

 Just a thought, but have you looked into buying what you want in UK and having it shipped out to Portugal? there are lots of people/lorries going back and forth to UK and we were suprised how inexpensive it was to send things out.

Hope all goes well.

Yes we have also looked at that option - for that product it seems to work out more expensive when you add freighting costs - the probability is that we will end up having something built specifically - I have a mate (a chippy) who is in the process of moving to live pretty close to Huelva and we will get together from time to time and do some joint projects (Im not the best DIYer but certainly not the worst either) - also as he is well on the way to setting up in business in Spain we will get (hopefully) the best materials prices that we can

Thanks for that digger old bean - worth exploring the possible logisitcs when I get the chance.

BTW - your "local" knowledge my help us here - there has been a lot of billboard advertising by AKI down here recently - do you think they might be planning a "move south" as well ??

AKI in Algarve? I daren’t ask m8….. all I’d get is a shrug
You have a word with them….go straight to the top “if not why not?”
It takes a northerner to explain the importance of a garden shed

I dont know about that as a theory digger - its bad enough trying to get people from Dorking to understand about keeping pigeons and having somewhere to dry your onions never mind someone from Lisboa.
