Western Algarve to change forever ...Formula One is a coming

Post by Guest »

Does anybody know what is happening ref the new F1 track just north of Penina..(Alcala).....
It seems it is going ahead to build the 150,000 complex for Super Bikes / Touring Cars etc etc......and possibly F1 in the future.
Recently Bemposta/Parkalgar have employed a whole bunch of Architects / Engineers and Virtual reality people on the design side....but the big news is that today the massive trucks have been mobilised and are laying new access roads in a big way ..right past my serene little house.........It seems this project is now full speed ahead but I have read little in the press to confirm that all licenses and the money ...etc is in place....
Having spoken to many Foreigners.....90% object ..whilst 90% of Portuguese I have spoken to in the area support this ..understandably as it will bring millions of Euros to the area.............

What do YOU think ???

guess you can break it down to the good, the bad and the ugly

Good: The new F1 track is going to bring millions to the area and increase the value of property for commercial use
Bad: The track is going to go through your back garden.
Ugly: You are allergic to Oropax.

Interesting the lack of replies on this very imotive subject......I recall
couple of years back there was outcry and people marching in the streets..(Well almost)........but this is Carvoeiro and not Alcala.(10 miles away mate ! ) ..and it seems the 'Greens'....only really care about their 'Back Garden'.........the truth is the so called environmentalists in the main. are only concerned when the value of their property is affected (Downwards) and not when it's somewhere else.......

Thanks Lesley...Keeping well and busy. Send you an email

Is I did not think Loule was the Western Algarve

Out of interest can anyone tell me where the WA actually starts...I thought it was from Lagos upwards to Monchique up to Odeira?

On a racing track every one is going in the same direction.

First there was a humble fisherman, he said, what is a tourist ? Do I need one ? Came the tourist he felt special visiting far off unspoilt places, but, he missed his golf club. I think you see where the thread is going !!
The grandson of the fisherman is now studying business management and the farmers grandson is studying civil engineering. Life moves on.

But we don't want that type of person here Norbi they tend to be rough types from Essex you know with ferraris and things like that. ........we came here to enjoy the beautiful countryside and smell the rich odors ....We live right by the Portimao new Bridge which is not far from this so called racing track.
Golf is what we like and lazing on the Beach (As long as those awful Dogs (Dirty things) are kept away...don't like poo smells either)
What people here seem to forget is that there is already a Racing Track in Almansil and if Schummaker and his noisy friends want to come and spoil our lives here they should jolly well take their cars to Almansil on the already built track..and stay well away from this side......

Whatever Next !!!!!.......I can't bare to think......Probably they will fly their private Jets into Portimao or Lagos airports as well......NO...enough is enough

You can't have one without the other - especially at low tide

Have not seen too many Ferraris as I drive across the "new" bridge.
In fact I don't see too clearly at that location, the stench from the Arade mud flats tends to make my eyes water, even with the vents and windows closed !! I trust you are upwind of this delicate aroma ?
