House Swapping - Crook (UK) for Carvoeiro

Post by dramaqueen »

Does anyone know of anyone that is either interested in doing house swap or has house swapped?

I'm interested as summer holidays are very expensive during the holidays so i was hoping on saving accommodation costs by hopefully swapping with like minded/similar sized house.

We have tree bed detached house with gardens front and back situated in Crook, gateway to Weardale (area of outstanding natural beauty) and within 20 mins of Durham City. Newcastle, 40 min drive

Any reponses much appreciated as only thorwing the idea around at the minute.

I've chosen Western Algarve as starting point as lest year we visited and absolutely loved it

Sorry cant help you with swap but been trawling the net for accommodation around Beamish? Parents want to visit the area - are you anywhere near Beamish and could recommend some friendly inns with accommodation, B & B's- must serve good ale and preferably good food. Saw a lovely castle - very romantic but a bit out of price range
Thanks-good luck with your search too.

We are about 20mins - half hour from Beamish. Will have a chat with parents as they know that area better for meals etc. Which castle were you thinking of - Lumley?
Beamish is also close to Newcastle, again about 20mins from Beamish. Rekon there would be cheap travel lodges etc they could use.
Also Durham itself will have a fair few (lots of pubs there!)
Helme park hotel is close to us. Beautiful views overlooking weardale. Not sure how much it is a night. What's the budget? Where are you coming from.

Thanks for the info. Drama Queen-they havent quite made up their minds where they want to base themselves-spoilt for choice :P Have sent for Northumbria tourist guide so hopefully they can find a good pub, inn with bed and breakfast-they usually just drive to area they like and have found some very good b&b inns serving good local produce and good beer
