Van hire

Post by Pierre »

OK I give up...I've searched the net for companies which will hire vans (light goods van, not MPV) but can't find one. Does anyone know of a company that does, preferably one that will deliver to Faro airport. Or can someone lend me one this weekend/Monday???

Europcar have large vans available

http://www.europcar.pt/worldwidelocatio ... idade=FARO

The site is all in portugues, but if you give them a bell at the Faro airpot, they should be able to help you out in english.

I was recently wanting to hire a van, to collect furniture from near Faro and deliver it to Lagos. All the local car hire places did vans too, but typically wanted over 100 euros.

Instead (via this forum) I was offered a "man with a van" service, who charges by the hour. In total it took approx 3 hours AND him & his mate lugged most of the stuff up the stairs for me.

It worked out around 80 euros, so saved me money, and saved me wasting half a day belting up & down the motorway in a transit!

Dig around for a similar service - it's well worth it.

Pierre has used the same service, and seemed similarly pleased with it! :D
