So long Ric...

Post by Steen Jakobsen »

Ric Mann passed away last night. Many of you will remember Ric and Jill when managing Long Bar, Sullys Bar and Whispers.

So long dear friend.
Carvoeiro would not have been the same without you.

All our love Jill and thanks to you both for so many happy moments.

Hi Mike,

Ric and Jill were in Long Bar in the late eighties and in Whispers afterwards.

Thanks Gerry!

Ric was cremated on Friday 19th November and his ashes have been scattered on the Mersey today.
He loved his time in Carvoiero and we both feel privileged to have known the village and it's people.
Sadly Joanna Thomson (ex Whispers/Sully's/Rascals) also died last week and I am going to attend her cremation in Eastbourne tomorrow.
Gone but not forgotten!!

Well, there is one thing, this year I am in England for Christmas and the New Year. For the first week I will be staying in Runcorn, which the bridge goes over the Mersey and my parents house is right by it so I will be thinking of you. My thoughts are with you Jill and I will always remember the good times here in Carvoeiro when you used to come in the Windmill Bar to play pool. Rick, well what can I say. A great guy, always cheered you up, liked a good laugh which we had a lot of those here in Carvoeiro. You will be sadly missed and my mthoughts are with you Jill.
Take Care.
Sandra, (Ex owner of Windmill Bar)
