Hi, It's me again. After 62 views of my last post, I am surprised I did not get one answer to my question. Is there nobody out there who knows anything about the ruined house up on what I call West Point Cliff in Carvoeiro.
Has anybody got anything to say about it?

Has anybody got any close up photos of it? I can post my email if anybody is interested

It is often very difficult to find out information about property that looks like it has been abandoned. It may have multiple owners who can't agree what to do with it, or the owners might be untraceable. Unless there is a for sale sign on it you would need to go to the câmara or conservatorio in Lagoa to try to establish who owns it.

Anyway, I think it’s probably ok to refer to cowboy & kteee collectively as “guys”
Good luck with getting info on that property….people around here are not unhelpful, it is just not easy or that obvious as kteee has explained

This place was in an 'abandoned' state when we live there (yonks ago now)..remember going to look at it then...I thought it had been left because of its 'dangerous' stuation? Cliffs crumbling away beneath?
H was told (by the chap we bought business off..as he was interested in it)..that it was gradually falling away..thats why it was boarded up?

I'm a totally amateur website designer so it's not that professional, but it started with only one property (ours) and has grown over the years!!

Well? Is the House On The Hill unsafe or not? Are the foundations gradually going? If you purchase said building will it be a fast route to the beach below-via the floor?

Can I ask you what is your interest in 'My House'? I hope you are not another bidder!
I have been looking at a photo I took last year from my boat out at sea and I can now see a cave directly below the house. There is also another cave below some of the homes behind it. I wonder how long it will all take to fall into the sea.
I have found some photos on carvoeiro.com taken in 1940 and the house seems to have no roof even then! So, again I ask the question, How long?
I will put up my photos on my web site in the next week or so.

When you lived in Carvoeiro did you ever take any photos up at the house? I am interested in ones showing any of the detail of the house.
Do you still have any contacts in CVO? Like the guy who was interested in the house. I would be greatful if I could contact him.

Afraid our friend isnt there any longer(he sailed off around the world while we were there)..
Its well over a decade since we were resident. All I can tell you Joe is he was very interested in the place..had the idea of a bar there (what a wonderful vista eh?

) and he enquired but was told 'not a viable proposition'...dangerous foundations that was expected to fall into the sea!That there was no way it could be made/or guarranteed safety.
But of course its still very much there

He had some grand ideas..even constructing some sort of 'Stairway' from the beach up to the property!
I dont believe I have any old photos of place...Ill look..think all Ive got is 1 or 2 road leading up from CVO..so no use to you.
I wish you luck with it...suppose you take a chance with something built in that position? When you look at the cliffs opposite..where the little church stands..underneath is wearing away..and those huge chunks of rock on the beach below were once part of that cliff face..
Biffa wrote in a recent newletter that there are very minor earth tremors almost daily..
But this old building youre interested in Joe could stand for another decade or more.....
Have you had any luck yet with who owns it?

p.s. You ask how long all that cliff to will take to fall into sea? Good question! Only mother nature knows the answer...the powerful sea/ earth tremors..but could still be there in 30 years
