I haven’t voted yet because I may be disliking it for the wrong reason (more things to click on to read the posts).

This has been done without any explanation from the hierarchy ……and I just don’t get it!!!! Has it got something to do with our last poll about registered users??? If so, are guests going to be prevented from posting on one of these forums???…..if so, which one???

(btw.....guests dont bother me)

The change is in response to the posts complaining about threads going off-topic, and wanting somewhere to post on non-Carvoeiro subjects.

I don't expect it will be policed too strictly, but as with the Jokes section, if you don't want to get involved in the more frivolous or non Carvoeiro related subjects, you know where to avoid! That's all.

Every time something changes on the forum it causes some upset - remember when we changed from the old format, lots of people didn't like it but who would go back to it now?

The same happened regarding the introduction of moderators, but that has been fine too in the end.

Give it a while to see how it works, I'm sure Steen will be flexible if it ends up not being successful.

Oh thanks kteee….I see…..hmmm well I think it’s a “no” from me then, as I like to see threads going off-topic….it makes them last longer, makes them more entertaining and anyone can revert back to the original thread at any time…

However if a thread is totally non-cvo related (those sexual innuendo things etc), then I suppose they could be started somewhere else….

Yes we could have a forum called “those sexual innuendo things etc.”

I've never been bothered about things going 'off topic'
unless as digger says they get a bit too personal.
I'm afraid I don't like the split, I find it too confusing and surely in the end it will end up all the same, you just need a non-cvo topic to mention cvo and there you are!
If you see what I mean.

As a regular guestie don't like the split forum - hardly relaxing is it clicking from one to other?
And I don't think I'm going to register now because why are some registered folk displaying the new titles of SENIOR MEMBER!!!!!! Is it golf or age related? Is there some discrimination now going on? - what bracket would new members fall into??? :?

Apparently we become senior members when we have posted a certain amount - I think about 100 qualifies.

I hope I don't qualify as senior in any other way yet

If you do register, then you only need to check on 'new posts since your last visit' then you get a list of all the posts you haven't yet read and it doesn't matter which heading they are under. It saves looking in all the categories and is one of the best reasons to register imho.

I havent voted yet..but have to say that my feelings are similar to Tricky's and I also feel somewhat confused :? (nothing unusual for me).
Is ChitChat really for people to 'get to know one another better' sort of thing?
Are we going to have a 'Lonely Hearts' page there?
Or maybe a problem page..a sort of:
Dear ----- (whoever),
My husband always wears his socks and nightcap in bed..its a real passionkiller..what should I do?
Worried Blueyes of Battersea
Kind of thing?
Or maybe..Whats the best way to grow caulies (that could be in UK or CVO)
I just dunno :? Shall we simply wait & see how it goes?
p.s Just read new post above....and only just noticed the 'senior.' bit guest!! :o
Blimey I hope not age-related ..cos if Trickys a Senior then I must be antediluvian

The problem is that we did have complaints - or should I say 'suggestions for change' - from registered users - it wasn't just imposed from on high for no reason.
