Now its darker earlier, and cooler in the evenings, where can you see a film nearby in English, and what shows that it is in English when you look online? Thanks.

Portimao shopping centre or Guia shopping centre both show 12 rating and upwards in English with portuguese subtitles, or is PG and upwards?

Thanks for your reply. I could not see anything on the Portimao cinema saying if in English or not. Can I turn up with confidence the films will be in English? Thanks again.

back in our day the film would add 'VP' - (version Portuguese) if it's in Portuguese, or 'VO' (version original) if in English or other originally filmed in.

Because it's nice to snuggle in the back row of the cinema and pretend you're young again! :D
Also it's a really nice evening if you go to the cinema in Guia then stop off at Ramierez in Guia on the way home and enjoy the best piri-peri chicken and chips on the Algarve.

Went to the big Continente complex in Portimao and saw Arrival- recommended. It was in English so all good. There was an interval after 30 minutes for 10 minutes which was a little bizarre as none afterwards in a 2 hour film. There are a number of interesting food options on the floor below too.

I'd forgotten about the 'movie breaks', they can come any time in the movie, not at what you might expect at natural break times; possibly a toilet break, more likely a fag break :o
