Great holiday

Post by daved »

We have just returned from another great holiday at Carvoeiro (monte carvoeiro), everything was just so and friendly, reminded us why we bought our time share there. :D

Having been to Cyprus and Spain earlier this year it was nice to get back to good food, views and the friendliness of the village.

Before we came, I used this forum for information, which proved invaluable, I thank you all for that. In particular I would like to thank Sylvia, Debs and Steen for their help.

We want to come back again next year, between May and October, preferably Monte Carvoeiro, is there anyone out there with an appartment for rent? :D

I have never been to The Algarve during the 'season' always preferring to go when it's quieter - February, or December. I don't think it'd be as nice when the hordes descend upon the resorts and the beaches fill so much that you're sunbathing elbow to elbow.

Sharen and I love the peace and quiet that you only get when everyone else it at home! :)

I never been during "the season" either, and I don't know whether I would like to be there. Same as Michael we always enjoy our stay from Jan. to Mar when we have the place to ourselves. Maybe we will meet at one of the happy hours at the Anteak Bar, Michael? If they are open and will have it during the quiet time as well.

Wow, heini, if you can be troubled to come all the way from Canada then the least I can do is have a drink with you!

I shall PM you with my mobile number - give me a call between the 24th and the 1st and we'll have one.

Cheers. :)

No trouble at all coming to Carvoeiro, Michael, I can assure you
We won't arrive till Jan 8, so I guess we'll have to put that drink on ice. Unless you make it back sometime till the End of March.

Dave,

We have just returned from a week in Monte Carvoeiro, staying in a townhouse. This was our second visit over the last two months, and we are back again in December. We are using it as a base while we buy our villa, which should complete in a few weeks. We rent directly from the Development, and there always seems to be a choice of accommodation. The two bed, two bath townhouse for December costs 300 euros per week, and we were offered a choice of six properties. We love the location, since not only do you have the restuarants in the square, it is a quick walk down into the "village" for even more choice. Have never eaten better than we did last week, and can't wait to go back! Sorry to sound such a foodie, but with a delicious main course for 9 to 10 euros, the value is superb.

Enjoy your next visit, and I would agree with the last posts. Out of season is best.

Ben
