New boys girls in town
Hi there
Just a quick intro my name is Gary and my wife is Gaynor and we both live in Holland (Scheveningen) but come from Swanage and Swansea respectively would you believe !!
anyway we are i the process of buying a 2 bedroom apartment in CVO and as ita new one will be completley empty. We will not be renting it out but want to furnish it with half decent stuff but not mega expensive.
Could anyone out there give us a few tips as where to go to purchase the furniture.
Also where is this place called Algarve shopping which I have read about on this forum ?
Hope to be over soon as soon as I get my thumb out of this dyke !!
Regards Gary/Gaynor

Hi Gary/Gaynor
Congratulations on your new home.
Algarve shopping (or Guia shopping) is on the main road, from Faro to Carvoeiro, and is great for furniture and nik naks, although the
shopping centre next to it has really nice interior design shops as well.
We furnished our apartment last year and really didn't find anywhere better.
Good luck

A little further along the 125 is Dimensao in the Kit Market development at Val Paraiso
http://www.dimensao.pt/swf/index2.htm
They stock quite a lot of modern Italian furniture + keep many manufacturers brochures and can get most things in 28 days. There are several shops "home" in Forum Algarve in Faro and if you feel like a drive up the motorway Ikea and Habitat in Lisbon

We are having to refurnish a villa we are buying in CVO. We found Sofa Vip in Lagoa to have an excellent choice of sofas and wood furniture - dining tables, chairs etc.. They are on a modern development which is a right turn just before you enter the main part of Lagoa on the CVO to Lagoa road.
If you fancy an English bed, Style Furnishings import them. They are on the 125 1km before Aqualand heading from Lagoa to Faro.
Happy shopping!
Ben

Furniture - Moveis Malheiro
Hi Gary & Gaynor
You could also visit Moveis Malheiro just off the main road to Lagos (s/p Silves) after you have crossed the main Portimao bridge heading West.
After the exit and 500 metres at the first roundabout take the 3rd exit to Malheiro and then the first road on the right - the shop is on your left.
Paulo (the owner's son) is very courteous and efficient and their furniture is of the highest quality as well as being Portuguese made. More importantly you don't have to wait months and the prices are attractive.
We furnished our villa in Cvo and were so impressed that we furnished our home here in the UK from there as well. The price including transport knocked spots off any deal we could have got here as well as getting here in 2 weeks.
The place is crammed full of all sorts of furniture and he is always up for a deal.
Go and look - he is a real nice guy.
