Air Conditioning
Air Conditioning
I am installing air conditioning in our villa and I have conflicting opinions. We are looking to put it into 3 bedrooms given the heat we are experiencing this summer. One opinion from one installer is have three independent units with 3 inverters (outside units) because no single point of failure, reduced electricity usage and noise. Other installer talking about one outside unit feeding all 3. I have no idea which is the way to go - anyone have any opinions or experience with this?

Re: Air Conditioning
I have single units and have had failures on two of them. It is a pain with one going down but if the whole lot go down your screwed.

Re: Air Conditioning
Get Mr Cool to install Generali units in the bedrooms as they have a silent mode - magic!!

Just to muddy the waters I have three units and two inverters - the two bedroom units go to one inverter. Having had the inverter serving the two bedrooms shorted out by a gecko, take pickwick's advice and go to Mr Cool (who fixed it for me). Wish I had silent units in the bedrooms......
Re: Air Conditioning
Thanks all - I will go with the individual standalone units.
Re: Air Conditioning
We have been very happy with SACL who fitted our system on both build occasions. Our bedrooms are a long way from the social area. We had one for 2 bedrooms and one for the social area. The new bedroom however could not work off the Sanyo outside as they stopped doing the internal piece of kit, so we had to install a third outside unit. Our Mitsubishi in the new bedroom is very quiet as are our original system.
