yes bacterial growth is a problem at high temperatures - in Europe the temp for pools is advised 27C for competions, 28/29 for adults leisure and 30 for a children's pool, but chlorine or oxygen or C02 levels must be controlled to suit. I have an automatic Chloromatic unit which produces gas from salt in the pool. The free Chlorine is controlled at 1-1.5 ppm and we do not have any problems. A good poolman is necessary to check that it is being controlled but he rarely has to adjust anything - a 25kg bag of rock salt is all that's needed every 4 months or so. And no nasty chemicals.
