I hear the government are introducing an annual license charge for inspections and are introducing safety regulations for villa owners with bottled gas appliances, I only have a gas hob so I'm going all electric. 8)

Yes, we're going the same way. Gas is becoming too much of a hassle.
We are having Solar for hot water, and an electric hob.

Like paying taxes, annual gas inspections have been on the statute books for many years, but ignored by large numbers of rental owners. Often through ignorance of its requirement I must add. I see nothing wrong with ensuring safety of gas installations, just like I see nothing wrong with paying taxes - as I know many of you also do.

That all said, the hassle and cost of gas is certainly a disincentive and I can understand changing to all electric - until we get one of those frequent electricity blackouts and you're dying for a cup of tea !

Anybody know how it will affect blocks suppled by the like of Galp /Repsol. We are in a block supplied by Repsol, block opposite is supplied by Galp. Direct debits, know where the tanks are located and that's about it. We get a meter reading every so often, but mostly estimated.
