Car hire whilst in Carvoeiro

We are finally coming back next Tuesday for 8 days. It is 6 years since we last visited and to be honest cannot wait. I know that some things have changed (the square being one). On previous visits we have stayed around the town or got a bus if we decided to anywhere. This time we would like to hire a car. As we are not certain which days to go out I would have to do it whilst in town rather than book in advance.
Can anybody recommend a firm to use; it will most likely be for a couple of days.

We have used Locauto at the top of restaurant hill, just across from Vimar.
There is also Auto Jadim on the out road

I've used Locauto and they were fine, I've also used Auto Jardim and likewise they were fine.

How are you getting from the airport to Carvoeiro? 8 days car hire would be around €60-€80, which may be a better deal than paying for transfers and then a car for just a couple of days. Click on the Algarvedriver fink at the top of this page.

We have got a shuttle bus, it was part of the package. Normally we just get flights and rent an apartment, but this time I got a good deal, and we are staying at the Mirachoro Praia. So I agree it would be cheaper To get a car for the complete stay. May be next time.

I have used algarvedriver several times. Last time was only last week. Never had a problem with them. If you take out the cost of transfers (at least 50 euros each way) it works out very economical.
