Best place to buy new mattress
Best place to buy new mattress
Hi
Can anyone advise where is the best place to buy a new mattress for apartment in carvoeiro. We are over early October and want to be able to buy and take, as opposed to order and wait.
Thanks

Seem to think there is a bed showroom, presumably will supply mattresses as well, on the left hand side as you drive into Lagoa from Faro on EN125. Just passed Barclays bank and before the traffic lights. reckon have to turn left at the lights and go into the industrial estate.

Re: Best place to buy new mattress
We got a great deal from these people. They are English lads and the one we got was from Argos. It's across the road from where SofaVIP used to be.smudger wrote:Seem to think there is a bed showroom, presumably will supply mattresses as well, on the left hand side as you drive into Lagoa from Faro on EN125. Thanks for the suggestions guys, will have a look at the websites. We'll check out the shop nearest Lagoa first and see what their prices are like.

I would like to suggest Conforama, we bought ours from there and very happy with it and the service we received.

Thanks mardi, will have a look there.

Don't waste your money. I know you must support local business, but you can save up to 40% getting it from the UK and shipped over, takes only a couple of weeks and can be stored till you arrive.sassyd wrote:Hi

Sometimes the shipping costs, hassle and possibility that it will be faulty can outweigh the savings.DVBRO wrote:Don't waste your money. I don't see the point on buying something like a mattress in the UK and shipping it out. People all around the world are buying mattresses every day and there is nothing unique about mattresses bought in the UK. You will be able to find good mattresses at good prices by shopping around in the Algarve. Go to the stores that the Portuguese would buy from is my advice. UK brands do not offer the quality that they used to years ago and you should have no problem getting good mattresses in Portugal. You might also find that their materials are more suited for the weather.DVBRO wrote: Don't waste your money. We bought our mattresses from Sofavip when they were trading and 12 years on they are still like new and always give us a good night's sleep. There was no way that we could have bought comparable mattresses in the UK and saved money after paying for shipping costs.

Agreed Farol. The one we bought from the lads in Lagoa had an Argos code. When I checked it online, Argos had it at £475 reduced to £425. We paid €400. Presumably, they bought a load of surplus stock but we still got great deal.
