Strip Bars

Post by Rob »

I have been coming to carvoeiro for over ten years and am very disappointed to see that strip bars are creeping in on the quiet village.

Part of the attraction of Carvoeiro was that it was unspoilt!

Do you agree that Strip bars are only a bad thing for Carvoeiro?[/b]

strip bars like brothels have been around since the dawn of time, just simple supply and demand stuff. They are a lot less obvious in Carvoeiro than elsewhere, and if thete were no clients they soon disappear.

Can't be any worse than the Jailhouse or the Roundup where all the ugly people are far from discreet in showing there horrible bloated bodies.

Of course youre right about the supply and demand bit guest. In the end its all down to the consumer isnt it? Or is it?
Do the local residents have any say in the matter? Does 'protest' happen?
As for the bloated bodies (beer bellies)you speak of..Ive only ever set foot once in Jailhouse (folk seemed pretty normal there to me)..mostly middleage /more mature folk..didnt notice 'bloat'!
Roundup?...only viewed from a distance but people seem to enjoy themselves..bloated or otherwise :)

I have to say I was very dissappointed to see this opening as a strip bar. Carvoeiro markets itself as a family resort and the cost of villas/apartments is a little higher than in other towns in the Algarve because it is a sort after location and the village is nice. If we continue to allow places like this to open, the familys may stop coming. I am not against men paying for a bit of fun or whatever they are allowing in those private cubilcles in the back, live and let live I say, but I do object when the place I love becomes full of seedy little clubs etc. I was having a drink only last night chatting to some holiday makers, and one of the girls asked me why such a small place has two lapdancing clubs and a brothel. I have no answer to that except as someone else has already mentioned, they would not open if they thought there was no demand for it.

Thank you guest - my sentiments entirely. What next we ask? I was thinking of upgrading in the property stakes, but this does put a new light on things.

I would like to point out, that both clubs are in a dark basement away from the mainstream tourist places and the brothel is way out of the way. As long as we do not have the whores sitting in shopping windows along the road or pole dancing on the square, I do not see a problem.

Incidentally, I went into Adega a few years back - out of sheer curiosity  and I found it an extremely boring show and hugely expensive...and before any little devils start speculating, that was the first and probably the last time I will be frequenting such establishments
