Re: Millennium bcp Bank - WARNING
We have also been using this service quite frequently.
Much to our surprise on Saturday afternoon (March 1st) my husband (while at the England v Ireland match!) received a phone call from Millennium informing of the change, this was followed by a confirmation email. When he tried the new service and the money did not seem to transfer within 24 hours - he emailed Millennium and got an immediate response (the money had in fact transferred correctly). I might add we do not transfer large sums - so no reason for special treatment - but were impressed by this level of customer service.
We have wondered why they had to make the alteration at such short notice though.

Re: Millennium bcp Bank - WARNING
Wrong weekend! (Senior moment
) He was definitely at the match - one not to be forgotten!!
It was 22nd Feb - so in fact week before the change occurred
Now I've got the dates right - makes me wonder why they didnt email everyone at that point?

Hi Carolyn
Can you check and confirm the date/time of the e-mail and advise please? Also was the call from the Carvoeiro branch? Any information will be helpful in my quest to get to the bottom of this debacle

Re: Millennium bcp Bank - WARNING
We received the email just after the phone call on the afternoon of Saturday 22nd Feb. They both came from a guy in the London branch of the Millennium.
The email said the service would be changing from Monday (24th Feb) and gave all necessary details. We tried it out with £100 on Monday 24th and money was credited on 25th (same as happened with HSBC).
Wonder if they changed their UK bankers account and overlooked this transfer mechanism?
Wonder how many people use it - but no idea how to find out.

Re: Millennium bcp Bank - WARNING
Ok so what's the practical solution ?
I have been with HSBC for about 20 years and don't want to open a Nat West account solely for the purpose of acting as a conduit for the transfer. I have a feeling that they will be introducing bank charges similar to the Portuguese banks if there are low funds within the accounts so don't want to get involved in that.
Suggestions on a post .......
Thanks

Re: Millennium bcp Bank - WARNING
Superbocker - You dont require an account at NatWest to use the service.
We are Nationwide customers. You essentially transfer the money into Millenniums account at Nat West with your Millennium account number as the reference.
You can do this from any bank. This is the advantage of it.

We did not get a phone call nor a letter. We did get the email - dated 28th February - timed as 20.10. So also after the event.
Luckily I had done my transfer earlier in the week, so went through OK and no charge.

He's a man dressed as bride. His mates noted that Jesus said 'suffer little children' and took it the wrong way. This was not the fault of Millennium bankshanagarry wrote:What's a Popepickwick wrote:Is the Pope a catholic?
