Re: tia ilda
I walked past a couple of tmes this weekend , it is now just a shell.
The Aviso outside says alterations to the restaurant.
Having seen the improvements to Tapas who did the same last year it will be nteresting to see what the " new " Tia lda looks like.
Encouraging signs of investment in a local business.

Lets hope they invest in a new customer service ethic.
Re: tia ilda
The renovations are still going. The ground floor is almost finished with a window that goes fully across the front. At the moment they are working on the patio on the roof. It is supposed to be completed on 1st March and should be pretty close.

Glad to hear that its being done sympathetically in keeping with the style of the neighbouring fisherman cottage propertiesbugsey wrote:The ground floor is almost finished with a window that goes fully across the front.
Re: tia ilda
Just back from a far too short but enjoyable visit. Went for a couple of walks and had a look at what was happening around the village. Not a fan of Tia Ilda but have to say it does look good, even in its unfinished state. Lot of work on a premises on the in/out roads between Soares and Dacora (?). Most restaurants appeared to be open, A Rede was closed and has a for sale sign on the wall. Work going on at the building that previously housed Barclays bank. Happy's and A Gale were pretty full on nights we visited. Checked out the remaining freesat channels available in apartment and it was pretty sad. Few CBS channels, travel channel, Sky News and that's was about it. The guy who runs Harrys bar told us that they were expecting Sky to disappear shortly, and by that he meant Sky sports. If we were staying for longer periods (or renting) then we would have to look at an alternative means of receiving BBC etc, but can survive for the moment. Lovely weather during the day, little bit cold at night. The boardwalk looks terriffic, not altogether sure it all of it will be wheelchair friendly but parts of it certainly will. It will be well used.
