Walk monday 10 Feb 2014 : Benagil
Re: Walk monday 10 Feb 2014 : Benagil
In view of the Red Storm warning today, if you are thinking of doing cliff walks in the next week or so, please take great care, as the damage and possible cliff falls are not to be taken lightly.
Over the years there have been several major incidents, around the Carvoeiro area.

Hi Geoff
We are back in town, but we were on those cliffs this afternoon
Dangerous!
The weather forecast is not good tomorrow, and will not be walking as the clifftops it'll be muddy, slippery and with strong winds!!

Very sensible dog.....do hope we will eventually meet up tomorrow....Even the dog won't get out of bed this morning!Caroline
In view of Jackie's & Bruce's comments, ( & welcome back Bruce, you missed some lovely sunshine!) I can only say that this walk is 50% inland and the rest can be done at some distance from cliff edges.....so I reckon it's safe , but it's , as usual, up to individual walkers!
Fingers crossed for the 'morrow.

Hi Geoff
One of our favourite walks but we wont be there tomorrow as we are a bit worried about the state of the ground given all the rain . Neither of us feel very secure with "dickey " knees and ankles !

And clouds beneath the glancing ray
Melt off, and leave the land & sea
Sleeping in bright tranquility"

Well, no wind, rain, thunder nor lightening, so reckon we are on!

Well, the weather cleared and we had mainly a clear blue sky....but with a quick 5 minute shower.....cliff paths were perfectly safe, though the earth a tad slippery. Anyway, we had 19 walkers & welcomed Caroline, David & Eiran ( I hope that's correct) as well as the return of Dick, Fran & Simon.

A good job we never went to Aguas Bellas....a quick recce this afternoon revealed an even more flooded stream!
