Walk monday 10 Feb 2014 : Benagil

PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF VENUE....NOT AGUA BELAS AS POSTED ....THE STREAMS ARE TOO HIGH THERE

This is a circular walk, along the beautiful coastline from Carvalho to Marinha beaches, combined with the countryside behind. About 2 to 2.5 hours. Some uphill gradients , but nothing terribly steep. There will be some loose shale on some of the cliff paths.

Degree of difficulty ( scale 1to 5) :2, Moderate

Wear walking boots or stout trainers, and bring some rainware, just in case. Walking poles are useful.

Shorts are not recommended , as some of the shrubs can be scratchy!

No charge, of course.

Directions : meet by beach bar at Benagil at 1000.
Parking should be OK, that time of year, on the steep down road. Alternatively, parking is available at the top.

I expect you all know how to get to Benagil. If not, then drive up restaurant hill and carry straight on for a couple of miles, passing the Tivoli Almansur on your right. Just before Rocha Brava, turn left signposted Benagil & follow signs for another 2 or 3 miles.

Please indicate below if you expect to be able to come.

If weather is bad or you are unsure of anything, please ring 282 380015 before 0915.

If it carries on raining, walk will be cancelled, so please check monday morning.....if we do cancell, will try again on tuesday 11 feb.

Just to say that Alan, Trish & I checked this out this afternoon, and the final stretch is VERY wet and there didn't appear to be a work around.....I will have another look tomorrow & try and place some stepping stones, but aren't too hopeful, so please check sat pm or sunday for a likely change of location!
