Original Restaurant

Hi all
We are returning to Seamarias in July after 5 years, and was wondering whether Originals restaurant is still open.
This is the restaurant just around the corner from carvoeiro tennis club.
Any info on menu etc would be appreciated , if it is still open of course

Was open when we were over for New Year, lunch set menu is €8. Great value and food.

Was there today. Fixed menu was couvert followed by choice of chicken piri-piri or whelk stew, dessert, 1/2 litre wine, coffee, port for 8 euros. Always a meat and fish special which changes every day

Thanks Bugsey for the reply. Is Vitor ,ex-Rosas still the cook/ chef at Originals?
Oh and does it open on an evening.

Vitor was never chef, but he has not been there for more than a year, do not know where he is now.
Original is open in the evenings and is situated, on the right after the windmill house about 400 meters past the tennis club.

No cheap set menu in the evening, but still reasonable prices.

Day we were there choice of pork or small fried mackerel. 2 good sized pork steaks and I got 6 fish.
Last August I asked about Vitor as I knew him from Rosa's bar before he moved to Original and was told his health took a turn for the worse and had to stop work.

Regarding Victor, met up with a Portugese pal tonight in Rosa's bar and because he used to work there I mentioned him to my friend. Seems his health has deteriorated greatly and he is unable to work. Knew he had back problem which seems to have got worse.

That is sad as he is such a character. Hopefully he'll get some treatment

I think that 'Escondidinhos' (incorrect spelling I know -thanks) is perhaps the best value in CVO area - anyone agree?
