Heading over to area in couple of weeks, will be making a return visit to this restaurant, like the idea of sitting outside with a refreshment!

Its the good old Jet stream thats to blame again. It is keeping the normal summer high pressure to the south alllowing the cool winds from the NW to blow over Portugal and Spain. At least getting an outside table should not be a problem

went for lunch today; fab meal; mixed the a la carte with the set menu; delicious big tempura prawns followed by sardines; bill for 4 of us with drinks €40, difficult to see how they make money , such good value

We sat outside on a Saturday lunchtime in June this year and you needed to be in the shade - it was quite a pleasant temperature. Food was great as always!

We had never been to this restaurant before this holiday but we had two wonderful meals here during our stay. ( I had seen it mentioned on this website though) The owner is very helpful and speaks excellent English, as does the young waitress. We sat outside, in the narrow alleyway, in the evening as the weather was very warm last week, and the only downside for me was the number of mosquitos! I did leave the restaurant with a huge amount of bites despite using insect repellent but my husband and friends got away a lot more lightly. We'll definitely go back again

Went back to this restaurant the other evening, and pleased to report that it has improved.

I never went along with Geoff's "best thing since sliced bread!" assessment, but it is a nice middle of the road restaurant, in a really nice part of Lagoa, well worth the visit because it's Portuguese in a working town, rather than a tourist resort.

I have to say that my chorizo starter was very good, and presented in an imaginative way that would have done credit it to a far more upmarket restaurant.
Main courses very good, but the desserts need some work. Very average and unimaginative, but to be fair, the Portuguese don't seem to excel at desserts, in the main.

Overall, the best quality meal out we had during during our 3 week stay.

I'll live with that Bruce.....it's the overall package that ( we think) is so appealing....I'm not really a pud man, but the chocolate mousse was fine.....and last time we went, it was complimentary...as were the couverts & the coffees.....and the little cake with " Happy Bithday Mrs H*** " but perhaps that was why!

We went last night for the first time and really enjoyed it, it was great to get plenty of nice fresh veg and will certainly go again
