Can anyone help Channel 4? [UK TV]
I have received the following request by email from Shirley Hopkinson, associate producer at "Ricochet South" who produce mentionned series for Channel Four;
NO GOING BACK, ARE YOU CHANGING YOUR LIFE TO PURSUE YOUR DREAMS?
SELLING UP, PLANNING NEVER TO RETURN?
ARE YOU MOVING ABROAD THIS SUMMER TO START A NEW BUSINESS VENTURE?
No Going Back is about to start its fourth documentary series for Channel Four. The programme offers a unique insight into the lives of people who had downed tools and upped sticks.
Each programme tells a different story of people transforming their lives to follow their dreams. Idyllic carp fishing holidays in Brittany; farming grapes, olives and almonds in scenic rural Spain; a safari lodge in sun drenched Zambia; diving holidays on an exotic Island in Nicaragua - these were some of the stories that have been featured.

no going back
Steen, when I read your post the first name that came to my mind was
Ruth Bank (pen name), author of two books, "Wild Herbs & Happiness",
life in an Algarve mountain village, followed by her second book,
subtitled "The Later Years". She also writes articles for the "Algarve
Resident" newspaper. I have never had the opportunity to watch this
TV series, but your desciption of it makes me think her life in the
Algarve might make a good story. Going from a comfortable urban
life in England to a remote mountain life in the Algarve.
I am a little reluctant to follow this up because I understand she is a
very private person.
If anyone has some insight on this, I would appreciate hearing from
you.

We have been addicted to this program. Watching other people who are brave enough to leave the manic world behind, taking their families to a simpler, less hectic way of life (usually somewhere in the sun!). I wonder if they will do follow ups of how they are getting on in 5 /10 years time? and whether the children grow up hankering after something a bit more racey!
From what I've seen of the show, they actually follow the family through the relocation to their new environment and follow them for a year. Not sure whether they would retrospectivley report on a life changing move. Perhaps Steen could write his own book and it could be a mini series!
