Otherwise i would certainly have discussed towels with an owner. Looking forward to the holiday in Carvoeiro with some sun, good food and a few pints.

Enjoy your holiday Shep :D

Place the towel in and use the vacuum cleaner on reverse extraction to make the packaging flat as a pancake! However, the only problem is that on the return journey, the villa you are staying in needs a similar vacuum device to flat pack the towels again unless your suitcase will not be as heavy or bulky on the homeward trip.

Traveling from Waterford? In that case turas sábháilte :)
Yep I did that in June with the bedding. I got smaller ones in ASDA for £1, so great value. Put it into case first otherwise it often ends up a shape that is not compatible with the case.
Yes, when deciding how much and how to pack such bathroom linen, it can be daunting..........but never throw the towel in and give up. :)

A small cost to us, but appreciated by guests with luggage limits.
Towels, sheets, bedding....everything, readily and cheaply available at Pri-mani.

So do we. Reckon most villas owners do.

Delighted to confim that the villa did have a number of beach towels. Did end up bringing some also, so happy days. Weather is beautiful, lots of people around and food is great.

How about this, we were told of a villa owner who has a camera connected to the internet that they use to keep an eye on their property.
Their local manager gets calls if guests are seen misbehaving.
More than one the call has been because guests are seen using the villa towels around the pool.
These owners make it clear that they will deduct from the security deposit the costs of any towels damaged or stained ( sun tan lotion etc ).
Some may call me anal , but !!!
I would be very unhappy to think that any villa owner was spying on me when on holiday.

Not sure why being Amrican would make ny diifference but they are " home counties Brits ".

But I do know of a Brit with properties in Florida who uses the internet to turn down or switch off the aircon, pool heaters in his rental properties.

CCTV cameras in the villa ! Wow ! Not in the bedrooms I hope ?
I once had to retain some deposit due to a heavily stained mattress- the lady renter who was frightfully posh then stunned me by saying me that they had not wet the bed but that they had had sex on it with the ensuing body fluids.
I was so amazed that I returned all her deposit

I'm not sure if it was intentional, Cereza, but that last line made me laugh out loud. Did you actualy make them take the mattress away? :D

I was on holiday in New England at the time and my agents phoned me because upon cleaning the villa they found one mattress heavily stained and also a nugget on our new sofa bed - they sent supporting photos as well !!!! I really did not want the aggro at that time. The lady renter had a very important job for a top company in the City and so I was amazed but not as much as when she replied. The renters were back in London by then so the agents had to replace the mattress but the lady in London then had a case of wine sent to me as compensation as I had refunded her deposit. You do get all sorts of people when you rent out and the agents do miss some damage but things tend to even out in the long run

Beautiful wine Sam - Rothschilds. I guess it was out of the company's client list so it didn't cost the lady a penny
