Having received an unacceptably high quote to re-tile my bathroom I had the bright idea of consulting this forum for any ideas and indeed read the recommendations for Les LLoyd.

Les has just completed the work and I cannot praise him highly enough. The standard of his work was exceptional and he undertook additional tasks to the originally agreed scope of work. He removed all of the old materials and always cleaned up at the end of the day.

.... and the best news is that the cost was a third of the original quote.

Les did a lot of plumbing and tiling work for us when we bought the 1970's build house some 4 years ago. I endorse andara's recommendation. Excellent workmanship.

Thanks for your feedback. What kind of rate do you pay plumbers/tilers over here, do you normally pay an hourly rate or a daily rate.

I normally ask for fixed price quotes, but from memory and considering a number of jobs that I have had done at the villa, I think you can expect rates between 15 and 20 Euros per hour.
