Tempo Bistrot - Ferragudo

This restaurant, whilst out of Carvoeiro, is easy to find if you leave Sesmarias along the coast road to Ferragudo, straight past Vila Castelo staying on the main road and it is on the left as you drop down the hill into the town. For those of you that knew it it is the old Barnard's restaurant having had a very pleasing makeover. It started out as Indonesian but is now a mixture of asian food from various regions.

We went on Saturday evening and pleasantly surprised by the place and the quality of food. It is a nice concept with small bowls of the various dishes all priced at €5. The rice dishes you get 2 for 1 so for the €5 you get enough rice for 4! The bowls give a generous helping for 1 person or enough for 2 to share. The plan is trying various bowls of the differnet flavours.

We had about 4 bowls plus 2 different rice dishes, decent bottle of red, one pudding and one coffee (liquer was on the house). Bill was just under €50 and we were well pleased. The food is excellent. Do give it a try as they deserve to keep the place going.

We passed this last week Bifa, but didn't know if it was the indonesian with a new name. Glad you went and tried it out for us. we will certainly give it a try in June

When it was Barnard's there was a small bar beside it to the left as you look at restaurant from road. We'd gone into bar as when we visited Barnard's it was closed! We'd heard they did very good freezer orders. When we passed by last month, looked like Tempo had taken over bar and knocked through?

It certainly seems much larger than my memory of Barnards !

Buffet lunch very nice, small plate 5€ large 10€, something different and can have extras also €5 a plate, we choose a starter each at 5€ and a small plate of buffet 5€. Something different from usual.
