Map on EN125 - Faro to CVO

We have friends over near CVO at the moment. Before they left I showed them the pdf of the driving instruction from airport to CVO downloaded from this website's home page.
I explained to follow guide/signs until the 7.9km instruction and at that sign keep right onto EN125 signposted for Almancil. Told them just to keep on this road until Lagoa then follow signs for CVO.
Never been to Algarve before but we got message from them to say arrived at our place without getting lost. Found our driving instructions straightforward.

You have the easy way out. I don't know why I worry about our guests so much. Silly me! the first 2 occasions we tried steering clear of the A22 we went wrong. We borrowed a satnav and I believe we went wrong by staying too long on the road from the airport and going off after the Almancil flyover. We ended up all around the houses in Boliqueme (spelling ) and would have to give up. The pretty map for the A22 route is the same on page 1 save the last bit which is the Almancil flyover. Get that right and probably our guests will get to the villa in one piece. Incidentally we now have 2 new sneaky roundabouts at the new ALDI before Intermarche that went in this month.

Keeping an eye open for the ALMANCIL sign is the key point. Following this sign just before the overpass and taking the right fork is the way to stay on the N125 and not get sucked onto the A22.
If only Google would get their act together and publish Street View maps of the Algarve, things would be far simpler.Their camera cars toured the Algarve a couple of years ago, but despite many enquiries by the public about when it will be online, nothing has happened. I did hear that there were legal problems regarding the publication of the results. The Spanish side of the border is online, but coverage ends about a kilometer into Portugal at the Tourist Information Centre on the A22.

This was done years back. Someone (maybe Steen) drove along and took photos along the way.

If no one else does this before we come over in Decmber (fingers crossed) I'll have a go at it. If anyone else does it I can easily format it for online and pdf if they send me the images.

OK. I think it may have been Steen as he provided me a version with the car hire details at the top. I thought it was something you could get with a flick of a switch on the computer. Oh well. I think we will travel in the semi light in 4 weeks time, but if not, maybe I could also try. The first bit is the same so I guess it will be from going over the Almancil roundabout. I know you then go across 3 roundabouts, although there are lots more after that too. Unfortunately hubby and I do not have much of a sense of direction. He knows he is not allowed to ignore the wife next time when she says take the road as though going to Lisboa. We ended up going through Faro as he panicked thinking we would go onto the A22. Eventually coming on the same road that you get on about 10 minutes into the journey, just we didn't have to 'crane' the neck in the opposite direction to see if the road was clear toget onto that road heading for the Almancil flyover. If you all know what road I am talking about. (By the way the last couple of days my smiley faces are not all showing on the right side of the messages - is there something wrong with the forum or just me?
