Martins Kulinarium
Martins Kulinarium
this German run restaurant in the former “Estrela do Mar” (near Bubbles Bar) is a very nice and very different place. Beautifully decorated it has an interesting menu based on local products. The chef/owner may also prepare a dish according to your wishes. Most items are available in small and large portion and there are at least two vegetarian items on the menu. The prices are quite reasonable too. If you are looking for something different, give Martins Kulinarium a try.
At the moment only evenings – closed monday and tuesday.

yes Tricky, I am alright. My girl friend came with me this year, so we are doing a lot of exploring. Off to Martins now for brunch and info on herbs and mushrooms of the area. On Tuesday we are going to a cooking class, should be fun.

Re: Martins Kulinarium
we had a very nice dinner there one evening late August. Mrs Soap enquired about the differences in two fish courses (possibly dourada and seabass)so instead of explaining the Martin said that he would serve her both - and let her find the difference. She said both were delicious and after we finished he came and had a long chat with us about different things including cookery courses and ingredients etc. Fairly empty on that particular evening but when other diners where leaving from inside (we were dinning outside on the front porch)most came over and said hello, possibly all German, all very friendly. Martin himself was really friendly and informative. From memory another lad served us as well, think it might have been his son. Certainly hope to return this year.
