I am having a house built here and looking around for a good window company....I really dont want to pay the rather high costs of some of the German suppliers however as we all know 'you get what you pays for ! '...any experience or recommendations would be helpful

Some of our friends had windows mounted by Mestre Raposa in Guia and were quite happy with the results, can't comment on the prices though.

Stay away from the "Kümmerling" windows from Spain that are being sold under the german quality label - they have got nothing in common with the actual german product. Safety and material quality are mediocre.

Other than that I can highly recommend Duarte Fernandes e Andrez in Lagoa, if you can ever get a hold of them

If you have all the time in the world (not literally, but a little pacience at least) then go with these guys. Pricing and quality have been spot on with our windows at home.

thank you for your reply....It was Mestre Raposa that I looked at and yes they are super..(PVC..some say not good in this climate ?) ..but very expensive and I'm sure worth it...but I cant afford that sort of price ...so I'm very thankful of your advise and I will contact the Lagoa company you mention..one thing though...please advise if they have a showroom and where is it..or a shop....I can then call by..

try speed frame in lagoa on the iindustrial park..alternatively any alumium firm will make windows for you....but its worht every cent to get the best you can afford

DFA is also located in the Lagoa Industrial Park just opposite the Fatacil. When you turn off the EN125 follow the road to the mini-roundabout and turn left, DFA is just a few meters on the right.

Just to thank you..DFA really are the best value ...I visited 8 companies and only these guys offered a real presentation (3 Hours)..superb product and prices..(Triple laminate Anti UV glass with American Aluminium...etc etc for the same price as most others guys using inferior Aluminium and only double glass...........The German stuff is superb but double the price for the same thing.
