Things to do in Carvoeiro in October
Hi
We're coming to Carvoeiro on October 7th and staying at Colina Da Lapa. We're really looking forward to it. Hope you can help with these questions:
Firstly, England v Wales on October 9th - which is the best bar to watch the game?
Are there any events between Oct 7th -14th - bands or jazz nights, DJ's etc?
Will it be warm enough to swim in the sea / pool?
Thanks for your help

Hi Mikey & Tracey,
Only thing I could help you with is the footy - Smilers Bar would probably show the football, two or three TV's in the bar area. When we were over in June they very kindly made sure that we would be able to watch two rugby matches. Because of the amount of TV's they have, they put the rugby on one of them and carried on showing other things on other two. Plus very friendly staff. Good for a few laughs.
Have a great time!

The water temperature at this time of year is about the highest it gets in the ocean, still a bit nippy though, but if you dont mind that should be ok.
Pen Nib is what my friends call me cos I'm into writing novels, my real name is Chris.

I am an avid footie supporter but after their little sulk and paddy after the last match - I ask you - not speaking to the Press - who do they think they are??!! Overpaid and childlike are 2 adjectives I can print here! (Mind you that's an insult to all children as they are better behaved than the national squad!) But then of course you could be supporting the Welsh ........ ! Wouldn't it be great if the Press decided they didn't want to speak to them this time ......?!
Don't worry you'll soon suss out which bar will be the best for you when you get there.
Don't know about the gigs etc - you could email some of the venues to check.
As for the sea - I have swum in Dec in years gone by, but my husband swims in it whatever time of year it is!
Wish I was there in Oct too!

Hi just back. Smilers Bar will be your best bet if you are wanting to watch England. Many of the other bars had football on in the last two weeks but I am sure that I read on the board outside Smilers Bar that they had the england game on or some english teamon (not a football fan). There is also a bar next to a gale which is another ok bar for football they had arsenal on Thursday there. Also try a gale for food its fab.
