Jet2 withdraw points for Faro flights
I've travelled from Manchester to Faro with jet2 a number of times. Just been looking at prices for next May and was disappointed to find that this route no longer qualifies for loyalty points. Last September, the points accumulated from previous Faro flights allowed me to get one flight free. I can still earn points, but only if I travel to Prague, Tel Aviv, Paris, Rome, Budapest or Venice. So it looks like another cutback by jet2. There is not much to choose between jet2 and Monarch from Manchester, but the opportunity to earn points with jet2 tempted me their way. I currently have 450 loyalty points, so unless I go to one of the aforementioned destinations (which is unlikely), they will not be added to.

I know - best bring your Wellies
Re: Jet2 withdraw points for Faro flights
Not used Jet2 for about 18mths mainly due to their prices, which is pity as out of the 4/5 airlines available from Manchester and Liverpool Jet2 was our 1st choice,so the news that they have withdrawn the points on this route will be another reason not use them.

In November 2012 I booked Jet 2 to Faro for July this year and got my Reward Points. The points made them more competitive than Monarch - JUST !

When I checked at weekend, Monarch were about £30-£40 cheaper, depending which day you travelled on.Lamby wrote:The points made them more competitive than Monarch - JUST !

Re: Jet2 withdraw points for Faro flights
Just had another check regarding Jet2 v. Monarch.
Two people, two suitcases and two pre-selected seats, return flight:- Monarch £438.88, Jet2 £479.92. So Jet2 £41 dearer.
However, the saving grace for Jet2 is their current promotion of 10% off all winter and summer flights - bringing fare down to £431.93, which makes the Faro flight marginally cheaper than Monarch.
