What do you do with the heating in your UK home when you come out to Portugal in the winter?

Re: UK heating
I have recently had British Gas install a thermostat which is controllable via the internet. You can see the temperatures and control the heating from anywhere in the world with this device which connects into the ethernet ports on the back of the router. You can set up alerts which are emailed to you as required.
So you can leave the heating on frost settings and get the house all up to temperature before you arrive home. Brilliant!!
If you are unable to access the internet, you can control it via simple text messages as well!!
I ordered it off the engineer who was servicing my boiler and got it for £149 installed and demonstrated working.

Re: UK heating
We have a thermostat with a holiday setting on it, we can leave it on the frost setting and put in how many
days we will be away and it will then come on to full setting the day before we come home, job done, it is
brilliant. We have had it for several years but I think it was about £125.

Re: UK heating
Our heating has a holiday setting. It's what to set it to?
Re: UK heating
Ours is set at 5 in other words a frost setting ,as advised by the boiler engineer we then put in the days
we will be away usually a month so I would put it at say 29 or 30 days and then that means the boiler will
come on the day before we get home at the temperature we normally have it when we are at home.
