Extra walk : Thursday 29 November, 2012, Pedreira

Hi all
This is an extra walk, the last of the year for us, so please come and make it memorable. It is also a new walk ; we are pretty sure we can remember the way, but don't be too surprised at the odd hesitation!

It's just over 2 hours, a nice walk through orange groves by a stream, and through some forest....but also a couple of climbs, not too steep, well rewarded with beautiful views! Some parts of the descent are a bit steep, so walking poles advisable.

Directions:
From CVO, go over Silves bridge and right on N124 for about 4.9kms, driving past 2 cafes, one called " Casa de Pasta a Norinha" and one " Taberna da Norinha" , both on the left hand side of the road.

Turn left at a sign saying " Pedreira , Pinheiro e Garrado" and drive 0.4kms : turn left and park opposite Cafe Retiro dos Pescadores.

NB Do NOT turn left on N124 at the earlier sign saying just " Pinheiro e Garrado" , which is before the 2 cafes.

Start 10.00 am.

Wear stout trainers/walking boots....a walking pole would be useful. Sunhats hopefully recommended, but some wet weather gear might come in handy. Please note that the walk will be cancelled of the weather is poor.

That is a pity (anyhow for me) but we arrive only thursday in the afternoon. So I missed all the novemberwalks.

The november walking season ended on a high, welcoming 2 new walkers, Caroline & Karen , making 12 intrepid souls who tested this walk and approved....despite some steep descents! Bit windy at the top, but views were magnificent.....time was only 1h 50m , so will need to find a 10/20 minute loop to add to this!
