Re: NEW SHOPS
It is very noble to keep local businesses trading but in the end the price tag reigns supreme; it is like bees to honey!EMM wrote:Unfortunately like the UK for every one of these new budget stores opened by a large company a couple of small localy owned shops closes as they cannot compete.
I was passing a new Primark superstore in Leicester Square last Thursday and even at 8pm on the evening it was packed out. I had a gander and saw trousers and shirts each at £5! No local clothes shop can compete with that and I am sure it is making a big dent in the major traditional high street clothing stores!

Re: NEW SHOPS
If I remember correctly you're a collaborator on the map so I will leave it with you.logicbob wrote:Michael Crane wrote:Can anyone confirm the location/existence of Soco Porches? Click Here to see on the map.
I will take a look in a couple of weeks when we are down in CVO, if it is not relocated before.
Re: NEW SHOPS
Soco Porches no longer exists, the new company and showroom " Condotti " is on the opposite side of the road.

As our self proclaimed London expert you must have been sleepwalking to think there was a Primark in Leicester Square
I take it you mean the new one in Oxford Street - Tottenham Court Road end - which was recently opened to compliment the one that is at the Marble Arch end which opened some 5 years ago!!!
Primark is a great success story - they've even got them in the Algarve now

Re: NEW SHOPS
You'll usually find him in Trafagar Square with his dog and a collection tin and wearing his medals.Michael Crane wrote:cereza, he only asked because he thinks you might have spotted him.
