Walk Monday 12 November 2012 : Aguas Bellas

Something a bit more taxing!

A circular walk of 2.5 hours or so ,north of Silves around Aguas Bellas through interesting countryside, with some small streams.

The walk is fairly undulating with one long haul up a hillside - once up , then the rest is fairly straightforward. We will have plenty of stops to recover our breath, etc.
This picture shows the long uphill gradient , probably about half a kilometer long:


10.00am start.

Directions: Drive over bridge at Silves & turn right at traffic lights. At next roundabout take the 2nd exit towards the castle. Passing the cemetery walls on your right take next turn right. Follow this road until you reach the Cafe Terinho on the left hand side, about 4 kms from the roundabout in Silves.

Please wear stout trainers or, preferably, walking boots. Walking poles, sun cream, hats and water also recommended.
If the weather is bad, we won't walk : but if showery, please bring something waterproof.

All walks are at your own risk.

No charge, of course.

hi Su.....Fingers crossed for the weather.....great yesterday, not so good today : we had a 14km walk with the AWW, mostly in the rain around Paderne!

Hi we will not be coming , but just to say hope not too wet under foot.

16 of us had a good 2 h 45 m walk, with only a couple of (small) checks that we were lost! Beatiful day for walking, cloudless sky, slight breeze:


couple of fords, nothing serious:


all manged the hill ok;


and, as usual, our friend the husky came with us:


(We checked with the house owners by the first ford , later in the afternoon, if it was still Ok to walk that way.....she said it was, the warning signs were to deter wheeled vehicles.)
