It's a no brainer, E1.75 per day is nothing, it means you can use the motor way whenever you want without fxrting about with post offices and worrying about the final trip to the airport. You have no idea when you might want the motor way - bad weather - good weather (too much tan). Vote for numero uno.

It makes it a bit expensive tho' if yo are out for 3 weeks or more !!!!! I would rather use the N125 during the off season to drive back to the airport and for the few times we drive the motorway, go to the post office and just pay what we owe.

Like LJ says, it adds up when you stay for longer, or visit frequently.

But also at €1.75 per day, that adds up to €24.50 per fortnight holiday.
Am I right in thinking that this a a payment for the device that costs the rental company something like €27.50 per year ?

Option 1 certainly feels like the most convenient, but only at a fraction of the suggested daily cost, or perhaps with a respectable ceiling on the total booking cost.

All 3 options seem to me more about making money for YOR, than actually solving the problem for the hirer.
I suspect the average hirer user on a weeks hire just does the one return journey, at a total cost of less than 7 euro.

Therefore I return to the suggestion that I offered over 6 months ago. A flat charge of 10 euros on top of a weeks hire charge.

Averaged out, I think that would be a fair levy, and still show the hirer a small profit to cover admin.

Item 1 nets 14 euro for an 8 day or 1 week hire. That is too high

As I only visit out of season, I've not used the motorway since the tolls were introduced. I have found the N125 to be no trouble at all. I think Bruce's suggestion of a flat €10 charge is good. If that system were introduced I would probably go back to using the motorway, at least for the return journey to the airport.

I voted for option 3 as this leaves the whole matter in my hands to act as I feel best however I wonder how the 3 euros for passing on details will be collected ? Will the hirer have to leave a credit card swipe and for how long is that valid? I wonder if Steen can tell us how many requests he has received so far for such details because I have not heard of anyone who has received a belated fee and/or fine :?

We used the a22 on Friday night because it was dark and wet. Saw three other cars on the whole journey and one of those was a police car. Paid the.2.82euro toll at Intermarche this morning.

I am not altogether clear on this.

Get billed for motorway use by Via Verde and €1.75 per day by hire company or get billed for €1.75 per day by Via Verde to include all tolls?

Pay 1,75 euro rental per day for the electronic device and get billed directly from Via Verde.

This is the model used by AVIS and other International companies. You pay both the transponder rental and the tolls.

Yor received around 100 requests about clients from the authorities in July/August. To our knowledge no letters has been sent outside Portugal.

I am surprised that YOR want to copy the Avis business model.

Next thing, YOR will be offering brand new cars, triple the price and very high charges for all extras.
