haven't had to do this for ages, anybody got any good parking recommendations for Gatwick airport?

Unless it's a very short trip I prefer to use the Long term Car parks as I don't like leaving the car keys.
Regardless of which terminal I use it's always worth checking both South and North car parks as they can vary and it's easy to switch on the monorail.
For a bit of luxury on early flights The Hilton in the South Terminal offers a good parking deal with the room and breakfast

There's 4 of us, they want £120 to park in the long term, £65 to park in a nearby field & get bussed, or £225 to stay at The Hilton & leave our car;
a cab from Chateau Sunman is £55 each way, full breakfast included , so i think we'll be taking that option

We used www.skyparksecure.com last month and paid £21 for 4 days. The actual parking was at the APH site in Felbridge/Copthorne (behind Shell garage). Skypark are just a broker but it was cheaper than APH direct. Book via Quidco for 10% cashback. Very efficient, good buses and they say they were airport parking company of the year.

Would agree - used Holiday Extras many times in the past. Had early flight once with the two kids. Had a family room at the Gatwick Hilton with double & 2 singles - large room, reasonable price including parking. Parking was not at the hotel, but at the on airport site, so did not need to go to hotel on return. In the morning - got dressed and wandered down to check in. This was some time ago, so arrangements and prices may have changed.

I assume you are away for more than 2 weeks so in that case it will usually be cheaper to get a taxi or let your son borrow the car in return for dropping you off and picking you up as I do ! ( and pray the car is still in one piece when you get back

we're going for 10 days in half term; although a good idea to get son to drop us off but the poor love is only 14 and coming with us

the other slight issue is that our return flight doesn't land till 10pm so to have a little man with a name card might be welcome in the arrivals hall....., not to overlook the fact that it will offer me the chance to have a glass of red on the plane before facing up to our first long hard British winter in 12 years

Bite the bullet....go in the Gatwick parking long term carpark adjacent to the north terminal. It will cost you about £70.
You can sometimes get a deal if you book online.

I always use the long stay parking at south terminal (what was Parking Express now Long Stay Parking). For an early morning trip over half term with EJ, I looked at the north terminal parking to save a bit of time and was surpised to see it was more expensive.

As a result I'm doing my usual thing of using the south terminal parking plus monorail.

BA have ridden up the rails with an excellent offer; as part of their 'prepare for your flight' email they offered on site parking in the ordinary Long Term car parks, £63 for 10 days in the South Terminal, sounds like a deal to me

Last time we were there we used Tudor Rose Valet Parking. No hassle, meet & greet.

Be careful with the Meet and Greet - I got scammed by a company call Gatwick Valet Parking Services - professional looking website - courteous e-mail reply when I pointed out they had my moblie number wrong on the receipt and only £42 for the week.

The only problem is they don't turn up nor answer the phone - according to Gatwick Customer Services they are a con.

If you use a meet and greet, search the web for recommendations for them first - lesson learnt for me

I agree. We used them to go to Turkey in May and they were fantastic. We fly again from Manchester May 2013 . . . . guess who'll be looking after my car?

Option 1: 3.5 hour drive to Manchester to use the wonderful Meet & Greet service
Or
Option 2: 30 minute drive to Gatwick Long term car park and a 10 minute bus ride

Yes, it is a tough decision....
