Pool tiling

Post by Matryx »

I know that this topic has been covered numerous times before, but can anybody recommend a reliable builder who can quote to re-tile our pool, including removal of the existing tiles and dealing with the disposal of all waste, patch-up where necessary, and re-tile with new? I have a quote from one of our housekeeper's contacts, but have nothing to compare with. The pool is 10mts x 5mts, just in case anyone has recently done the same thing, and can offer some advice?

I'd like to be included in this as well please, as we are intending to re-model our pool and re-tile it this winter, as well.

I have 3 quotes coming in, and would be glad to share any information that I can.

No show without punch eh! :D
Kevin (wendy's husband ) does pool tiling. I'm sure he would be happy to quote as well.
Have you still got his number?

Billy from the Tivoli Dive Centre does underwater pool cleaning and repair. I think he can fix things without having to drain the pool. I know this isn't what the OP wants but others might be interested.

Thanks, all. We will be in town in October and December. Anyone interested in tiling a bathroom over the Christmas break? :)

Can definitely recommend my builder - obviously did my pool - has done a retile for another member of the forum and rebuilt one in Caramujeira recently. His name is Eduardo from RCMefilhos lda - I am here this week until wed night if ayone wants to see my pool (11 x 5mts) to see what his work is like. PM me if you want my tel number to come to see it.

Hi I would also recommend Eduardo. Last year Eduardo refurbished our house in CVO. He did a fantastic job and came in below budget. A great bloke very easy to get on with.

There is alot of negativity about this forum, sometimes, but threads like this prove a very strong positive side.

I have had a very strong and helpful response over my pool re-modelling.....thank you, all of you.

We had our pool re tiled earlier this year, it included removing old tiles, new pipe work, new electrics, building new steps and relaying patio. The work was carried out by Matthias Muller a builder from Estombar and I must say I was very impressed by his standard of workmanship and the professional way the work was carried out. We viewed previous jobs that he has done and I am sure he would be happy to show you examples and photos of his work. He can be contacted on 964788088 or email matthiastrade@sapo.pt.

I couldn't agree more, and this is the type of helpful community feedback we should continue to promote. Thanks to all for your kind and useful comments and recommendations. :D

We also had our pool retiled by Matthias and he did a brilliant job.
