Restaurants near Faro airport

We have a late flight home next Friday (10pm ish) and I was thinking about driving to the airport and eating somewhere fairly near to the airport rather than eating sandwiches or the food (?) at the airport etc That way we get another meal out as it's only a short break..

Can anyone suggest anywhere - years ago I arrived early for a flight and drove across the bridge to the praia - is there anywhere there worth venturing into? We only want something simple. I'm not keen to go into Faro itself nor the shopping centre.

the big chicken piri piri place on the right towards the airport is very good, have used it a few times

If you go over the bridge to the beach and turn left there are one or two eating places down that road. Last time I used a smart looking place on the right with the esoteric name of Sui Generis. The set menu was good value and the food was excellent. During the day I would go further along and use the place up some steps because it has an open air area directly adjoining the beach.

We quite like the stalls. The food is excellent and they are very friendly.
