Congratulations to Smilers Bar
I have read in the August newsletter that Smilers Bar celebrated their 25th anniversary on 25 July last. I can remember on our first visit to Carvoeiro 18 years ago sitting at one of the outside tables with my bottle (or was it more than one) of Sagres watching the world go by whilst the female members of the family spent my holiday funds in the gift shops in the square. Congratulations to Geraldine and everbody else involved.

25 years on the 25th?
That is an impressive. Can't say I visit it that much as I am prone to frequenting their next door neighbour - Colombos.

Not a favourite of ours either, the cheap brewery supplied plastic furniture is a blot on the landscape.

Those chairs are now in London, well they are in my neck of the woods. We have a local Portuguese delicatessen and there's about six of them outside on the pavement. A few residents have kicked-up stating they are an eyesore but there is no law that stipulates what colour they must be. Have to admit they are very tacky looking.

Bit of a let down to the area eh! James, they'll have jellied eels there next.James Faro wrote:Those chairs are now in London, well they are in my neck of the woods. Have you tried Cliff Richard's Vida Nova? I don't think it's classed as a chardonnay, but it's got a very distintive taste. I think that I could get quite used to it (wishful thinking)!!!!!

Re: Congratulations to Smilers Bar
smilers is 'probably
' in the best position in cvo. even when its windy (most of the time) smilers is in the sun and out of the wind. still, 25 years is a fair stretch. anyone (including Pato) recall what cvo looked like in 1987?
