Water temperature in Carvoeiro ?

Can anyone give us a hint concerning water temperature (ocean) in Carvoeiro ?

I was out last week with 4 other 'ladies' and I paddled and they swam in the sea, cold but warmer than I can remember sorry don't have a temperature tho'

Local fisherman told us that he sea is warmer than normal, both types of mackeral, carapau and carvalha, are being caught of the rocks, a sign that summer has arrived.

Always bear in mind that the sea temperature can vary by as much as 4 degrees from day to day depending on whether the wind is South-West bringing in the Gulf Stream or South-East or North-West taking it away.
The weekly variation can be up to 10 degrees.

It's one thing knowing the weather in advance for your holiday - but the sea temperature?!? Whatever, just run straight in and dive into those waves, you'll soon discover how cold it is !

Cold enough for Polar Bears is my recollection especially when the water Starts to lap around the nether regions.....just keep moving and you will be fine.

go to http://www.hidrografico.pt/ it tells you the water temp all around the coast - currently ~18/19 in "Porto portimao" area

It varies. Just be very cautious from swimming off the coast of Sagres because if the water temperature does not get to you, the winds will.

Also be very carefull where you dive or jump into the sea.
I came across a report recently of a dutch tourist who suffered severe spinal injuries diving into the sea from the rocks off one of the beaches in the Carvoeiro area.
